This is a unique opportunity to purchase what we believe is the only 1.0 EcoBoost powered Classic Mini Cooper currently on the road in North America. This 1992 Rover mini, originally equipped with a 998cc automatic A-series, has been fitted with a modern 2017 1.0l 3 cylinder Ford EcoBoost engine and 5 speed manual transmission, utilizing a front subframe designed and built by Gotenman Technology from Spain. A low milage engine and transmission were sourced domestically for the build from a low mileage 2013 Ford Focus. Completed in 2020 this vehicle has covered just under 2700 miles, and features an aftermarket canvas sunroof, Corbeau front seats, Dakota Digital instrument cluster, 4 speaker sound system with an under-seat subwoofer, tilt steering column, and LED lighting. An aftermarket fiberglass hood was required to accommodate the added height of the turbocharger, and does show some cracking. Engine management is handled by a stand-alone Delta 400 ECU from Specialist components in the UK, and the classic "rubber cone" suspension has been replaced by coil-over shocks at all 4 corners. As you might expect this car is very very quick and easily achieves and maintains comfortable highways speeds. This vehicle is located in California and currently registered in Arizona.
